GEF Scholarships
For
almost 40 years, the Georgia Engineering
Foundation (GEF) has sponsored a program that
awards college scholarships to worthy Georgia students who are preparing for a
career in engineering or engineering technology. Since 1985, over 650 students
have been awarded scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. In 2010, 30
awards were made available.
All
scholarships are competitively awarded based on the student’s demonstrated
competence in academics, interest in developing a career in engineering,
financial need, and school and community involvement.
The Atlanta Section of IEEE funds for three
annual GEF scholarships. To apply for a GEF scholarship please follow the
instructions on the GEF Apply for Scholarship page.
IEEE

biomedical technology and telecommunications to electric power, aerospace and
consumer electronics, among others. The IEEE produces 30% of the world’s
published literature in electrical engineering, computers and control
technology, holds more than 900 major conferences annually and has nearly 900
active standards with 400 under development. IEEE Atlanta section serves
4,500 members and 900 students in the northern half of Georgia. The funds
