Mentors for Future City competition

1. What is Future City? It is competition for 7th and 8th grade students to design a Future City using the Sim City (Deluxe 4 version). The engineering mentor advises the youth team of 3 students on details to consider in their city and advise them as they build a scale model of a portion of their city. The Georgia competition will be January 24, 2009 at SPSU in Atlanta. For questions or to volunteer, contact Jim Remich at JNRemichPE@IEEE.org

Mentor training is available from a webinar.

2. Additional configuration tips:

a. The recommended browser is Internet Explorer 5.2 or higher.

b. Popup blockers should be disabled.

c. Headsets/Microphones should be plugged in BEFORE launching Wimba Classroom.

d. For optimal performance, close all unnecessary applications and maximize your browser.

b. When prompted, click on the Participants Login button and enter the following information in the provided Name textbox: Name: Your first name_last name For Example: If you name is John Doe, in the Name box enter: John_Doe

c. TECHNICAL PROBLEMS?

i. If you have technical problems during the session, first, exit by clicking on Lobby and then re-enter by clicking the room name Future City Mentor training.
